About Us - Location
The Santa Susanna Mountains are a transverse range of mountains in Southern California, north of the city of Los Angeles, in the United States. The range runs east-west separating the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley on its south, from Santa Clara River Valley to the north, and Santa Clarita Valley to the northeast. The Oxnard Plain is to the west of Santa Susana Mountains.
Situated high atop a peak in the heart of these mountains sits The Secret Hideaway.

Natural Beauty of The Secret Hideway

The Santa Susana Mountains are in the California chaparral and woodlands Ecoregion, and includes the California oak woodland and Southern coastal sage scrub plant community, and are covered by hundreds of local plant species, some of which are very rare or endemic, and others which are widespread and have become popular horticultural ornamentals. The spring blooms are breathtaking in their scenic beauty and can all be seen from The Secret Hideaway.

Animal life includes from rattlesnakes to the endangered mountain lion. The endangered Californian Condor also live in these mountains. The well-trained eye might spot California Mule Deer or a Coyote. Larger mammals that are considerably more secretive and therefore less often encountered include the Gray Fox, Bobcat,, and the American Badger.
